MORTA SKULD: 'Best Of' Collection Due Via PEACEVILLE

July 28, 2005

Long-defunct Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based death metallers MORTA SKULD will be the subject of a "best of" collection, entitled "Re-Surface: The Best of Morta Skuld", due later in the year via Peaceville Records.

Commented frontman Dave Gregor: "We're actually all for it, even though that era of our life is long since dead. The band ran its course, we had a lot of fun, but in the end Jay [Jason Hellman] and I are much, much happier doing what we're doing now." Asked if he thought this album would spark a reunion, Gregor replied, "Uh... no. MORTA SKULD was a great band but that's just not us anymore. I think Kent [Truckenbrod] and [Jason] O'Connell would've liked to, but it's just not in the cards. I like what we're doing now. This band [9MM SOLUTION] has far surpassed what MORTA SKULD ever did."
